Today is the day that the Baby Revolution Sale is open to the public!
Checkout the shopping times here. I love this sale, I have made hundreds selling items before. I got to shop the volunteer pre-shop yesterday and it was incredible. Definitely worth it to volunteer! I got a wooden balance bike for $35 {bargain}, some Gymboree outfits that still had the tags on them for $6.50{shirt and pants} and a few toys. I also sold over 40 items that I had consigned during that time! Unbelievable!!
Baby Revolution consignment sale is being held at the Beltrone Living Center off Wolf Rd and is open to the public from 12pm-5pm on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-12pm. Although Sunday is half price day, I suggest getting their Saturday when they open. They clear out early - their stuff is good!!

Jewelie from UsBourne Books recently contacted me about the books she sells. We love to read in my house so she sent a few over for us to review!
The favorite in our house by a long shot? There's a mouse about the house! It's what they call a "slot book". What's so cool and different about a "slot book"? You take out a little mouse and use the mouse to follow the dotted lines thoughout the story. The mouse even moves from one page to the next. It is so cool! My kids were in awe of putting the mouse in a slot on one page and turning the page to find the mouse had appeared there!
Jewelie also puts together buckets with books and items related to the story for special occassions- back to school, new brother or sister, and more.
Prices for these books are really reasonable too. There's also puzzles, sticker books, activity cards, and more. You have to check out Jewelie's website.
I love buying gifts for birthdays that I know won't be duplicated by someone else, these books fit the bill perfectly. Also, think Christmas and stocking stuffers!
Thanks Jewelie! Jewelie will also be at A Baby Event selling books, checkk them out.

Have you heard of Discount School Supply?
It is one cool place to get arts & crafts supplies, toys, sensory items, and more for little ones. I just went on a nice shopping spree to get ready for the summer and no preschool. Gotta' keep those little people busy!
They have cool learning toys like this alphabet spelling game. Kids can "fish" for different letters, great way teach letters and practice spelling.
Lots of things are sold in bulk for great prices so find another Mom and order together. I've done it a few times and love what we get and the price we get it for!
Great way to stock up!

A reader sent in a comment about customer service, but revealed something very interesting about LL Bean kids jackets in the process:
"
LLBean has the BEST customer service. I went in twice looking for a backpack for my toddler and both times the same older woman dropped what she was doing, walked me over, told me everything I needed to know about backpacks, embroidery, ordering in the store via their phone and getting free shipping. Just a great experience. She also told me that LLBean kids jackets have a nice feature where a thread in the sleeves is cut and it gives the arms an extra 1/2 inch or so. Something to look into if you've had to buy 2 coats a season because of sizing."
Thanks for the info!

Crazy 8 opened in Colonie Center yesterday. An Albany Mommy reader who stopped in reported that the store is on the smaller side and didn't have a lot on special yet. I'm sure once they've been there a little while they'll have some great sales!

Last Friday I got to try out the coolest new thing in the Capital District with a few "little friends".
Games 2 U is officially "a mobile game theater and more". Unofficially it's "why on earth didn't anyone think of this before".
John, a father of 3 from East Greenbush, is running the local franchise of Games 2 U. Tell me he isn't the coolest Dad on the block!!
John met us in the Crossings and let us try out the games inside and outside of the van. The inside of the van fits 12-16 people. Once John got the games set up for the kids inside, it was almost complete silence. Amazing! My 3 yr old was playing with the teenagers and had a blast.
Then we got to try out some of the games outside the van. Then, the kids got to play laser tag!! After that, we rolled the kids around in a hamster ball!! Can you believe all that? Now that's fun. The littler ones loved being rolled around and the bigger kids were able to get it going all by themselves. I have never seen anything like it before, it was hilarious. Everybody who was near us in the park stopped to take a look.
I am not a video game person at all. (We have a Wii and I am still learning) When we tried this I didn't think I was going to let John go home with the van. We got to play for almost 2 hours!! I know this is made with kids in mind, but it's awesome for adults too! Seriously.
My opinion? I love it, price is great, customer service is awesome, and this is just soooo cool. John is a father and it shows. He is so good with the kids. When the 3 yr olds were having trouble with laser tag he got right down with them and showed them what to do and ran round with them. (That's the stuff that impresses me.) Anytime the kids asked questions or needed help, John was right there.
You know how I am about price and bargains. Listen to this... IT'S THE SAME PRICE NO MATTER HOW MANY KIDS!! Prices start at $199 for either the game van or laser tag, you can do add-ons for $50 each. So for $249 you can get the game van plus laser tag - the van can take up to either 12 or 16 players inside and another 8 outside AND you can have a whole bunch of other kids playing laser tag at the same time! You won't even need to feed them, no way they are going to stop to eat! Just keep throwing water or something to drink at them and they're good to go!
OK, I had a ton of fun. My friend Kim and I both wanted to climb in the hamster ball and roll around. The kids had an amazing time, didn't stop talking about it forever(still), I got a ton of thank yous from all the kids I invited. Jon asked if I would ever be interested in setting something up so YOU GUYS, the Albany Mommy readers could try it out. Of course I said yes! Although, at the time I was thinking - I am going to play again and bring my child back. I also have had thoughts of telling everyone one time and telling John an hour earlier so I get play time for my only family first. Sorry John, it's that much fun...
So, keep checking back. Pretty soon you'll be able to try this out for yourself. You have to see this in person. As much fun as it sounds, it's even better in person!

Baby Revolution Consignment Sale is coming in May!! Not to sound like a cliche, but this sale will be better than ever!!!
The Baby Revolution Sale (BRS) is coming May 1st- May 3rd. This year in addition to all the regular consignment items, they are having a Boutique Section!! The girls have been hard at work and have scored some incredible deals.(In places you can't even imagine.) Being the ultimate bargain hunter I had to know more. Here's what Jes had to say:
"In this section you will find new designer and brand name clothing and baby equipment at a fraction of retail prices. All of the items will be marked down to at least 50% off of retail value!! We have been working closely with manufacturers and vendors to purchase these items from overstocks, returns, samples and last season's designs. In keeping with our commitment to be an earth friendly business we never purchase items yet to be manufactured. We've found some amazing deals and we are very excited to pass the savings to our shoppers. In this section you will find items from Tea Collection, Zutano, Deux par Deux, Kissy Kissy, Baby Lulu, Room Seven, Miracle Blanket, UPPAbaby, Tralala, Le Top, Lilly Pulitzer, Kate Mack, Kaloo, Zaza Couture and many more. In addition we will also feature baby and children's products crafted from local moms. "
I can't wait. I have made hundreds selling my kids old items at the last 2 sales. I can't wait to sell more this time. I'm just afraid I'll be spending it all in the boutique section!! I love how they are selling items made by local moms - in this economy it's nice to support the local economy!!
I will let you know more as I find out more. Especially about the "Moms Night Out" party the first night!!
