We went to see Toy Story 3 on Ice last night at the Times Union Center. WOW doesn't even start to describe it!!
I loved it even though I thought I'd be way to old to enjoy it. There was definitely ice skating with the main characters, but the dancing and moving around from the others was phenomenal. It was like watching a play not an ice show. The toy soldiers came out and danced and marched, my favorite part. The toys, Mr & Mrs Potato Head, Ham, and the dog skated around and waved to the kids.
By the way, Buzz Lightyear is an amazing skater, incredibly talented.
It was so cool to watch that my 5 year old crawled on to my lap and just pointed at everything. He sat still for the entire show! {That's the sign of a good show}.
Toy Story 3 on Ice is a show for kids of all ages, we watched the movie a few times before going and I think it helped add to the excitement. This is one show you will enjoy along with your kids, entertaining for all. Enjoy!

See these cute shirts? I made them myself!
You may have seen them on channel 13 today. I told you I would give all the links and directions so here it is!
I bought the design online from Dinky Doos Designs. They have a brand new store on Etsy. The design was customized with the name I wanted and sent to me within a day. I bought t-shirt transfer paper from Michael's {with a coupon of course} and ironed it on at home myself!!
What's really nice about buying from an online place and having the design sent to you is that you can print it as many times as you like. Once this shirt gets outgrown, I'll print it again and make a new one!! They also have more designs than they have listed. I also bought a few designs to make shirts for friends.
*Tips and hints for iron ons:
~Follow the directions on the transfer paper.
~Heat and pressure are most important - press down on iron with both hands, keep iron as hot as possible.
~Put the shirt on a piece of wood rather than the ironing board - keep more heat near the shirt. You can also put foil underneath the shirt to trap more heat.
Any questions? Just let me know! I'm happy to answer.

Today on News Channel 13 at noon I'll be demonstrating some arts and crafts for kids of all different ages.
Here are the more detailed instructions in case we miss anything! {Pictures to be added after the show}
Green and red playdough. I used the no cook recipe from Family Fun for this. All you need is flour, salt, water, and food coloring. If you let the kids mix it themselves, just be careful with the hot water. Full directions are here.
Picture frame cards. I bought mine at Michael's in the dollar section. Christmas Tree Store has them too. Just let the kids draw their own pictures! Really simple and easy.
More after the show!
